Congratulations to four PhD students at FABI who submitted five winning posters in the CTHB Outreach Poster competition last year! Their creativity shone through in their submissions, which depicted concepts central to tree health and they were rewarded R1000 for their winning posters.

A call was made to students last year to design posters for the DST-NRF Centre of Excellence in Tree Health Biotechnology that simplified the science of tree health for learners at school, the general public and anyone else interested in science. The designs therefore had to be visually appealing and convey the subjects simply and without resorting to jargon. The posters could then be displayed at science and career fairs and CTHB Outreach events.

These four students designed the winning posters; Arista Fourie, Darryl Herron (with two winning posters), Joey Hulbert and Marike Palmer. Well done to you all!
