Driving Instructions
FABI is located in Lunnon Road, between Tindall and Herold Rds. Tindall has been closed recently, thus FABI has to be accessed from Herold Rd (difficult) or Duncan Rd (easy).
Driving directions: Keep on the N1 north and take the Lynnwood offramp. Turn left (towards the city centre) when reaching the traffic light on the Lynnwood offramp. Keep down Lynnwood past the intersection of Lynnwood with Brooklyn (south-east) and Duxbury (north-west). The very next traffic light is the intersection of Lynnwood and Duncan. Turn right into Duncan, keeping the left lane, and turn left into Lunnon (there is no traffic light). Follow Lunnon up to the small circle. You will see the University's East Gate in front of you. After entering the East Gate, you will reach a bigger circle. The FABI building is located to your right.

Prof. Mike Wingfield is Mondi Professor of Forest Pathology, the Director of the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute, Director of the Tree Protection Co-operative Programme (TPCP) and the Director of the DST/NRF Centre of Excellence in Tree Health Biotechnology (CTHB). Together with his colleagues and students, he studies various aspects of pests and pathogens of forest trees. One of his special interests is to better understand the origin and patterns of global movement of insect pests and pathogens of trees. In this regard, he maintains a close working relationship with forestry companies and conservation groups in many parts of the world, who share his concern regarding the growing threat of tree pests and pathogens. He has published widely on the topic of tree health and is the recipient of many awards for excellence in education and research.
