Yield improvement of recombinant protein production in plants

 

Protein degradation poses a significant challenge for the efficient production of recombinant proteins in plants. My MSc research project focuses on exploring the role of cysteine proteases during protein degradation as well as the potential of cysteine protease inhibitors (phytocystatins) for yield improvement of recombinant protein production in plants.
