Research Interests
I am currently working as a research assistant for Prof Bernard Slippers. I am part of the tpcp group and am involved in various projects. I do mainly molecular biology work such as DNA extraction, PCR and sequencing.
I finished my MSc at the University of Stellenbosch, where I worked on the molecular characterisation of a human gene (LGALS13) and its involvement in the development of pre-eclampsia. I enjoy working in the field of fungal genetics since the lack of sequence information (in comparison to human genetics) opens a wide range of possibilities in terms of research.
