Research Interests
Since February 2006 I have been managing the TPCP/CTHB Diagnostic Clinic under the guidance of Prof. Jolanda Roux. The Clinic aims to provide diagnostic services to members of the TPCP/CTHB Programmes - identifying pests and pathogens. Where possible were provide advice/suggestions on control and/or prevention of future attacks/infection.

Each year new students are drafted into the clinic as part of their research experience. In this way they learn more about pests and diseases of trees in general, in South Africa as well as abroad.

Clinic members hard at work:
As part of their training, clinic members go on a fieldtrip to forestry regions in South Africa to observe diseases and pests in field. The fieldtrip also serves as an oppertunity to learn more about the forestry industry in South Africa in general.
Fieldtrip 2007:
The fieldtrip in 2007 included visits to the Mondi Eucalyptus Nursery in Kwambonambi, Sappi Richmond Nursery, Sunshine Seedlings Nursery, Sirex emergence facility at Lynnwood as well as various fieldstops in Zululand and the Midlands.
