Research Interests

I finished my B.Sc. (Agric): Plant Pathology degree in 2007. I have just started with my M.Sc in the Fruit Tree Biotechnology Programme. The aim of my research is to isolate defence genes from a superior avocado rootstock in response to infection with Phytophthora cinnamomi. If identified, avocado resistance genes could be used as markers for the rapid detection of resistant traits and for the genetic improvement of susceptible rootstocks.
