Research Interests
I joined the ACGT Microarray Facility (www.microarray.up.ac.za) in April 2006, and as the Microarray Scientific Officer am in charge of the
day-to-day management of the facility. My duties include:
- Operating the Molecular Dynamics Generation III spotter to prepare spotted glass microarray slides
- Scanning microarray slides using the Genepix 4000B scanner
- Experimental design, data analysis and technical support to users of the facility
- Optimizing current protocols and developing new techniques for microarray experiments.
Previous Research
I completed my MSc in Biochemistry at the University of Pretoria where I investigated antibacterial peptides in Ornithodoros savignyi ticks.
