Ms Maleshoane Selaocoe
|Junior Research Assistant|
I completed my MTech: Biotechnology in 2013 at the Vaal University of Technology, under the supervision of Prof Michael Pillay (VUT) and Dr Patrick Adebola (ARC).
In 2014 I joined the Forest Molecular Genetics Programme as a junior research assistant for the DNA fingerprinting platform. This facility provides a high-throughput microsatellite fingerprinting service for most Pinus and Eucalyptus species grown commercially in South Africa. My role in this team involves extracting DNA, preparing samples for DNA fragment analysis and doing DNA marker data analysis and quality control.
