The potential societal value that Biotechnology presents is what inspired me to complete both my BSc and BSc (Hons) Biotechnology at the University of Pretoria. My Masters project will aim to characterise a serine protease inhibitor that was identified in maize and transformed into Arabidopsis thaliana.
