I am currently on an Internship Programme under the patronages of the DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Plant Health Biotechnology (CPHB). Primarily working within FABI’s Resistance Screening division under the supervision of Prof Almuth Hammerbacher. Furthermore, I am also working within Plant Clinic, Bio-control Facility, and Extension programme to gain a well-versed experience in pests and disease management. Previously, I have completed my BSc Agriculture (Plant Production) and MSc (Plant Physiology) at the University of Venda, South Africa. During my MSc programme; I was awarded a scholarship by the Baden-Württemberg Government to participate in an International Programme in fall semester 2019/2020 with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University known as Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DBHW-Heidenheim), Germany. The Programme included Business modules taught in English and was complemented by a course in German Language and Culture. Both degrees were completed while working at the University of Venda, School of Agriculture for 5 years.  As a Research Assistant, I was responsible for the execution of field research trials, support with general field management, maintenance of equipment and tools, monitoring and scouting of pests and diseases associated with field crops, data collection, sample processing, and analysis of data. Provided assistance, training, and problem solving to both undergraduate and postgraduate students to enhance crop growth and yield as well as the quality of data. Participated on Farmer's Day to provide training and problem solving to smaller-holder farmers. Several graduates were produced and journal articles were published with my technical assistance. Moreover, being an Administrative Assistant to project leaders has sparked my interest in contributing to daily administrative support, including project coordination and management, community engagements, planning, and organizing field and admin logistics with stakeholders, and calculating hours for payments worked by other field assistants.
