I joined the Fruit Tree Biotechnology Programme at the University of Pretoria in 2007 as an undergraduate assistant and continued in the group for the duration of my postgraduate career. I completed a M.Sc. degree in Plant pathology studying the interaction between Phytophthora cinnamomi and Persea americana using molecular tools such as gene expression profiling and pathogen quantification. Currently I am working as a researcher in the Hans Merensky Chair in Avocado Research
