I'm an agricultural plant pathology student doing my Masters under the supervision of professor Jacquie van Der Waals. I did my final year project in 2020 on Establishing the host status of various cover crop species to the soilborne pathogen, Spongospora subterranea f.sp. subterranea. My Masters will be a continuation of my previous work with additional components. The aim is to contribute to the development of a more sustainable, economical, and effective integrated management program for this pathogen and its diseases that can be implemented by South African potato growers.
