On 22-23 January, Dr Guy Sutton, a statistician and entomologist, from Rhodes University presented a two-day statistical course in the FABI auditorium. Topics covered during the course included experimental design, linear models, additive and multiplicative models, count models, binomial models, and mixed effects models. The course was tailor designed to FABI’s research and to assist researchers during the planning, execution, and statistical analyses of their experiments. During these two days, attendees also learned how to conduct statistical analyses in the now widely used statistical program, Rstudio. We thank Dr Gerda Fourie for organizing this and we thank Dr Guy Sutton for presenting this empowering course.
