I am currently pursuing my BSc(Hons) Biotechnology, under the supervision of Professor Bernard Slippers. My research focuses on Diplodia sapinea, a fungal pathogen that affects pine trees globally. My current project investigates the mechanism of recombination in this fungus, aiming to determine if it's sexual or asexual. Unravelling the secrets of reproduction in D. sapinea could open doors in disease management and advance our understanding of fungal recombination.
