SND2 is a transcription factor that is thought to be involved in cellulose biosynthesis in the secondary cell walls of xylem fibre cells. In my project, the promoter of SND2 is characterized. To this end, qualitative GUS and targeted yeast one-hybrid analyses were performed to determine the expression pattern of the promoter and to identify regulatory proteins that are interacting directly with the promoter, respectively.
