My doctoral research project will be investigating functional biomaterials such as biochar and its interactions as a toxic enzyme sorption and subsequent delivery material for biofumigation compounds targeting Pectobacteriaceae in potato production in Southern Africa.

During my MSc, I evaluated the host risk of seasonal cover crop species to- and subsequent suppressive effects against Phytophthora nicotianaeon a rough lemon rootstock.

I have a passion for crop protection that is in harmony with the broad ecosystem. Thus, my fascination and excitement at the biorational control of pre-harvest diseases of economic importance.
