I joined Fabi in 2024 as a mentorship student in the CPHB programme in my final year of studying Bsc Genetics. Here, under the mentorship of Mr Michal Slupski, my interest in fungal plant pathogens was fortified and inspired me to pursue the field in my Honour’s degree.

I am a Genetics Masters student with the project of investigating the diversity of Ophiostomatoid fungi associated with pine bark beetles in South Africa. I am under the supervision and guidance of Dr Nam Pham and Prof Brenda Wingfield.
