FABI PhD candidate, Phrasia Mapfumo, presented a poster at the 20^th International Sunflower Conference that took place from 20-23 June 2022 in Novi Sad, Serbia. Ms Mapfumo was awarded one of five student travel grants offered by the International Sunflower Association (ISA). The conference focused on the 21^st century - Innovations for sustainability in changing environments and Ms Mapfumo presented a poster on the ‘Effect of planting date on Sunflower growth, development, yield and Sclerotinia head rot progression’. Phrasia received the runner-up poster award for this presentation. The award is to recognize young researchers for scientific excellence, clear design and good science communication. The award was presented at the Gala dinner on 22 June 2022.
