Professor Caterina Villari visited FABI on 20 October after concluding a 10-day visit to the Western Cape to attend the fifth meeting of the Bark Beetle Mycobiome Network Project in South Africa led by Prof. Irene Barnes of FABI and Prof. Jiri Hulcr (University of Florida). Caterina is an Associate Professor in Forest Pathology at the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and was a guest speaker at the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Tree Protection Co-operative Programme (TPCP) and DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Plant Health Biotechnology (CPHB) at Future Africa in 2022. During her visit to the Institute she participated in a round table discussion with students and staff took a tour of the FABI biocontrol facility before concluding with a tour of FABI hosted by Prof. Mike Wingfield.
