Professor René Heim of the Georg-August University of Göttingen, Germany presented a special seminar “From leaf to landscape: Interdisciplinary remote sensing of plant pathogens” in FABI on 20 April. Prof. Heim is a plant ecologist and remote sensing scientist, working at the interface of ecology, agriculture and plant pathology. He studies plant-pathogen-environment interactions and how to best integrate remote sensing data into such studies. He is a research collaborator through the Satellite Lab in Remote Sensing of Plant Health and was visiting FABI as part of this collaborative research effort. His presentation covered research projects being done in his lab and shed light on new and emerging tools and techniques for remote sensing and how to better analyse datasets.
