Carol-Ann Segal, a FABI MSc student, won the prize for the best MSc Research Poster presentation at the 30th Annual SANSOR Congress. The congress was hosted from 22-23 May 2019 in Umhlanga, KZN. Students presenting research posters at the congress were judged in three categories: PhD, MSc and Hons. Carol-Ann’s research focuses on the functional analysis of a Cercospora zeina effector using Agrobacterium transient assays. She is part of the Molecular Plant-Pathogen Interactions (MPPI) research group in FABI is supervised by Prof. Dave Berger.
