The DSI-NRF Centre for Tree Health Biotechnology (CTHB) in FABI welcomed 10 interns on 2 March. This new initiative will see the interns spending a year at FABI getting a wide-ranging exposure to the Institute’s research activities while also receiving training in lab techniques and writing skills. They will also be required to complete a mini-project under the supervision of researchers in the CTHB. The programme is planned to upskill the participants and equip them to be ready to start an MSc degree. On completion of their internship they will have the option to start an MSc project, should they be deemed capable and interested in doing so.
