I joined FABI in 2020, and I am currently doing my MSc in genetics under the primary supervision of Prof Albe van der Merwe.

My MSc project focuses on identification and characterization of the mating-type loci in species within the genus Chrysoporthe, namely,  C. zambiensis and C. syzygiicola. Species within this genus are economically important canker pathogens that affect both commercial and subsistence plantation, such as Eucalyptus spp., and native Syzygium trees.
