I completed my undergraduate degree in Genetics, Human physiology and Psychology at the University of Pretoria. I am currently pursuing my honours degree under the supervision of Dr Irene Barnes and the mentorship of Dr Felipe Balocchi. My aim is to investigate the genetic diversity within populations of a newly discovered fungal pathogen, P. kutranfy. The fungus causes a canker disease on Araucaria araucana trees in their native range in Chile and Argentina.
