I am currently a Masters candidate in Genetics. My research focuses on the Botryosphaeriaceae, a family of Ascomycete fungi that includes both endophytes as well as several plant pathogens. Over the course of my Master's degree, I am investigating the systematics of this family using phylogenetic and phylogenomic approaches. Additionally, I am examining thermal adaptive traits of one genus within this family, the Oblongocollomyces, using genomics and transcriptomics approaches. This work is being conducted under the supervision of Prof. Marin Coetzee, and the co-supervision of Prof. Bernard Slippers and Prof. Tuan Duong.
