I am a Genetics Honours student currently conducting research under the supervision and guidance of Dr Nam Pham and Prof Brenda Wingfield. My project focuses on using population genetics to investigate the potential origin of Holocryphia capensis. This work builds on a recent phylogenomic study that revised the genus Holocryphia and revealed that isolates from Australia, previously identified as H. eucalypti are in fact H. capensis. I hope that my work will contribute to informing biosecurity, disease management strategies and keeping the trees healthy.
