I am genetics Honours student working under the supervision of Dr Melissa Joubert and a part of the Avocado Research Program. I am currently working on the annotation and expression analysis of the cytochalasin gene cluster in Dematophora necatrix. 

In 2024 and 2025, I participated in the FABI mentorship program, working with Nicole van Vuuren and JJ Nelson. These experiences were instrumental in cultivating my passion for science and ultimately encouraged me to pursue my Honours degree.
