The “Book Club” has become a regular annual event held during a selected FABI Monday Morning Meeting towards the end of each year. Other than sharing views on books read during the year, the event provides suggestions for holiday reading as the team heads into the “Festive Season”, a time that many take advantage of the southern hemisphere summer. On Monday 22 November several FABIans shared thoughts about the books they had enjoyed reading or that perhaps had changed their views on life with other members of the Institute. Books presented varied from Fantasy, Romance and Sci-Fi novels, to biographies and photographic books, showcasing the wide range of of interests of FABIans. Prof. Fanus Venter, Deputy Director of FABI, who instituted and leads this initiative, made the point that many of  books discussed subsequently find their way onto the “must read” list of other FABIans.
