FABI Senior Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Neriman Yilmaz attended the 13th Conference of the World Mycotoxin Forum in Parma, Italy. The World Mycotoxin Forum® is a conference programme covering the latest issues in mycotoxin management and bridging the gap between researchers, food and feed industry, laboratories, and policymakers from around the world. Close to 400 people attended the conference from around the world. Almost 10% of the attendees were from governmental organizations and the rest were from academia, industry, and research institutes. There were more than 80 oral presentations and among them was Dr Neriman Yilmaz who presented a seminar titled “Facial Eczema caused by sprodesmin producing strains of Pseudopithomyces chartarum: An important yet poorly understood disease of dairy cattle in South Africa”. Some of the Fusarium results presented by Neriman were part of the Research Development Grants for Y-Rated Researchers from NRF she received the beginning of this year.
