From 18 to 22 March, Dr Vuyiswa Bushula-Njah visited the National Coffee Research Institute (NaCORI) in Uganda. The aim of the visit was to initiate research collaboration with researchers working on coffee wilt disease (CWD) caused by Fusarium xylarioides (Steyaert) in that country.  Vuyiswa was hosted by Dr Geofrey Arinaitwe (Director of NaCORI), Dr Godfrey Kagezi (Plant Entomologist) and Dr Sammy Olal (Plant Pathologist). On a two-day field trip organised by NaCORI research officers, Vuyiswa learnt about the destructive nature of CWD and interacted with farmers who face losing large acres of their coffee plantations due to the disease.
