I joined FABI during my BScHons in Genetics in 2025, during which I completed my project under the supervision of Prof. Eshchar Mizrachi. My project was entitled "The King’s Clock: Annotation of the central clock genes in the genome of the King Protea, Protea cynaroides", where I aimed to identify and validate the function of all known homologs of the plant Central Clock genes in the genome of King Protea (Protea cynaroides) as well as other species within the Proteaceae family that have fully sequenced genomes. 

I am currently a first year MSc student, and I will be focusing on using comparative genomics to study secondary metabolite pathways in the Mopane tree (Colophospermum mopane).
