The French-South African Science and Innovation Days was held in the CSIR from 2-3 December. FABI Director, Prof. Bernard Slippers, was invited as a panellist together with four other prestigious guests to reflect on how to promote regional cooperation between France, South Africa and Africa. Among the main points, the need for infrastructure and the need to lead bright young people to become leaders was highlighted. In addition, three FABIans, PhD candidates Quentin Guignard, Elisa Pal and Jane Ramaswe presented posters on the research they are conducting in FABI. It was also a unique occasion for the French students in FABI to meet with prestigious guests including the French Ambassador to South Africa, the CEO of CNRS and the CEO of IRD, both among the biggest and more active research institutions in Europe.
