The 2024 CPHB-FABI mentorship program welcomes 18 new undergraduate mentorship students that will assist postgraduate mentors and gain hands-on experience in research laboratories. The mentorship program has been running since 2005 with a focus on preparing undergraduate students to pursue postgraduate studies while also exposing these students to Plant Health. At a meet-and-greet function on 8 April, the mentees were welcomed into the programme by Prof. Fanus Venter, who encouraged them to engage with the research activities in the program while maintaining their academic aptitude. The mentorship students also had the opportunity to meet their mentors during the meet-and-greet function. The mentorship students include second- and third-year BSc students majoring in various fields. The mentorship program will run for the remainder of 2024.
